Here i am searching free framework or content management system in php and you want to know what I found. That Elxis is completely free open source content management system. When I installed it first time .. I simply say wow. So many features and best part is it is free.It contains lots of features like supporting multiple language, easy to use and  the adaptation of the modest web technologies and the quality of the source code and extensions.

Just take a look of above picture this is pic of Elxis's control panel pic. It added some new options in its control panel which generally not available in PHP CMS are Backup,cache , language manager and access control etc.

Elxis CMS is compatible with Linux , Windows and Mac environments. Elxis written in PHP5 and uses Adodb database library in backend. This means that Elxis supports various types of databases for storing data like MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Composer is an application-level package manager for the PHP programming language that provides a standard format for managing dependencies of PHP software and required libraries. It was developed by Nils Adermann andJordi Boggiano, who continue to manage the project.

Composer is a tool for dependency management in PHP. It allows you to declare the libraries your project depends on and it will manage (install/update) them for you.

In my opinion composer is best package manager and very secure and manages all it task efficiently but one thing I not found in compose is that It has only command line interface and no GUI Interface.

Installation composer on windows

Composer installation  Steps ( WAMP ) 

Step 1 - Download executable from here .

Step 2 - Enable  openssl extension in WAMP.

Step 3 - open file E:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.5\php.ini and
             remove ; before extension=php_openssl.dll  save.

Step 4 - Now again restart WAMP server.

Step 5 - Now Run Composer.exe

Impress cms is good cms framework i am not saying excellent framework because it is not excellent. Installation is easy navigation is easy but look is not so excellent . One more point i want to clear here that i have few error in admin panel when i log into admin panel error which shows currently executing sql statements and name of php files which i think is bad. Rest is good. Admin panel is easy and site is excellent.


This is impresscms's admin panel image and looks good with easy navigation. If I ignore errors I found in admin panel then it is great cms to start.











impresscms's site has good color combination with good look and easy to navigate. I like simplicity of this cms . But i think it should remove its error rest is great.

hi if you are going to create simple website and you have only little knowledge about website building and navigation then concrete framework should be your first choice. What i like in concrete framework is that from admin panel you can directly edit you page . They display full page and with edit link. So everything is great in concrete framework good looks and various options . Installation is easy . Navigation is easy in both user end and in admin panel.


This is home page of site created by concrete framework .Home page is simple ,clear and attractive. You can modify anything in admin panel like image or link names.










This is an image of admin panel of concrete framework. When you click on edit page link everything in this page is converted in blocks and each block is with edit like so when you want to edit anything you have to only click on edit link.
So navigation is very easy and type of navigation
i like very much.

Kohana - using kohana

Kohana is a PHP5 framework that uses the Model View Controller architectural pattern. It aims to be secure, lightweight, and easy to use. I am assuming that you have installed at least Model view Controller . If you please try this kohana is very easy to install and navigate. If you are not aware with Model View Controller then it is best package to start working in MVC packages.

Graphics excellent , color combination is good and easy navigation . excellent documentation support with kohana.

I must say thanks to phpbb developer for creating such a excellent framework and distributing it free. Very good framework and if you are going to start your forum site please just go for phpbb framework. phpbb has very good looks and good functionality. Installation is very easy and navigation is also very easy. Admin panel and site home page both have excellent graphics and easy navigation.

This is admin panel of phpBB3 , excellent graphics, large number of options are specialty of this framework.

Easy navigation is the key feature for using phpbb framework.








This is phpbb3 site's home page using phpbb3 as forum site is very easy and even if you have not installed any framework previously .You can use it.

CakePHP - create your site with cakephp

CakePHP is good tool but i don't like this tool installation is difficult , navigation is difficult, yes home page looks good color combination is also good. When i install this framework first time i have to search in its manual "how to install" and "how to connect with database". I don't know why developer of cakePHP have done this may be security reason or whatever . If you are experienced with using framework you should explore this tool.
